Recap

ATHMOR ROLLS PAST BA FEARNOG IN SCORCHING CONDITIONS

Kinney’s hattrick leads Athmor to their second win of the season

Under relentless summer heat at Carraigh Mór, Athmor delivered a dominant performance Sunday, overpowering Ba Fearnog 40–12 behind a six-goal outburst from Pat Larkin and a relentless all-around effort from Brock Kinney.

With temperatures pushing 95 degrees, both sides were forced to manage fatigue as much as tactics. Athmor handled the conditions better from the opening whistle, playing at a blistering tempo that Ba Fearnog struggled to match.

Larkin led the charge, finishing with six goals in a clinical scoring display that repeatedly punished Ba Fearnog’s defense. Each time Athmor created space in front of goal, Larkin seemed to be there to finish the job.

Kinney controlled the middle of the floor throughout the match, contributing three goals and three assists while anchoring the defensive effort with nine blocks. His presence was felt on nearly every sequence as Athmor dictated play from midfield.

Drew Tschappat added another major storyline for Athmor. Just weeks removed from a knee injury, he returned with authority, scoring four goals and helping stretch Ba Fearnog’s defense with aggressive attacking runs.

Athmor’s early pressure quickly created separation. By halftime the lead had ballooned to 25–3, leaving Ba Fearnog chasing the game in brutal conditions.

To their credit, Ba Fearnog continued to compete in the second half. The bright spot came from Ed Green, the 40-year-old making his league debut. Thrust into action amid injuries and a thin roster, Green responded with two goals and a tireless effort that drew a strong reaction from the Carraigh Mór crowd.

Despite the effort, Ba Fearnog never threatened the result. Athmor’s depth, pace, and finishing power proved too much over the full sixty minutes.

The victory moves Athmor to 2–1, reinforcing their status as one of the early contenders this season. Ba Fearnog, meanwhile, falls to 0–3, though Green’s performance provided a rare highlight in a difficult afternoon.
